Dirt TV is a video competition for Year 7 & High School students about what mining and energy means to them. SACOME created this initiative to provide an opportunity for students, particularly those more oriented towards the arts, to engage with a scientific subject and the diverse career opportunities available.
Dirt TV encourages students to research the facts and value of mining and petroleum, including environmental, uses of mined products, importance of the industry in South Australia and how the industry impacts their everyday lives. Student's learnings are spread through the Peoples Choice Award, which enables voting by members of the public. Now in its third year, the videos typically recieve thousands of views across South Australia.
