Background

Women in Resources South Australia commenced in 2011 as a committee external to SACOME, including a SACOME representative.

The success of the committee and a growing number of members led to an increased demand for resources. This culminated in a landmark partnership finalised in 2013 seeing SACOME take a larger role in the activities of the committee by funding a WinRSA Project Officer to support the committee’s work and accelerate the achievement of its goals, including increasing the participation and leadership of women within the State's resources industry. The group provides opportunities for women in the resources industry to network, discuss common issues and promote the participation of women in the South Australian resources sector.

WinRSA is primarily funded through the generosity of Beach Energy, BHP Billiton, Department of State Development, Finlaysons, Fyfe, OZ Minerals, PwC and Santos and these organisations continue to support WinRSA as a committee of SACOME.
